The Grand Theatre

The Grand Theatre produces seven professional productions on its Spriet Stage and presents/produces smaller shows in its studio space, the McManus Stage. The Spriet Stage is an 839-seat proscenium theatre with a full fly system. The McManus Stage is a 150-seat studio theatre with a catwalk system. 

The Apprenticeship    2018 – 2019 season

The Apprenticeship will be an introduction to the workings of a large, unionized prop shop in a regional theatre. The successful candidate will become a permit worker with IATSE Local 828 for the duration of the apprenticeship.

Under the supervision of the Head of Props, the Apprenticeship programme will include constructing props, planning and examining building materials and supporting the rehearsal hall for The Grand Theatre’s season.    

The Candidate

The candidate will be a graduate of a post-secondary technical theatre program and will have at least 1 year of professional work experience.  The successful candidate will be creative, curious and passionate about theatre and have the ability to work well in a team environment.  A portfolio demonstrating skill sets would be an asset.
