General Audition Notice

General Audition Notice
2018-19 Season

In preparation for the 2018-2019 season, Dennis Garnhum, Artistic Director of the Grand Theatre in London ON, will be holding general auditions in both London and Toronto in May/June (details TBC).

Please see for full programming details. Please note that the productions for which we will be considering actors are: Timothy Findley’s The Wars, A Christmas Carol, The Penelopiad, August Wilson’s Fences, Cabaret, and Mamma Mia!.  Show-specific auditions will happen at a later time, and there will be a separate call for children later in the spring/summer.

  • Please note that only those artists who are invited to audition will be contacted to set up an audition time.
  • Please do not submit for a general audition if you have been seen by Dennis in the last three years.
  • Please prepare two contrasting monologues, one classic and one contemporary, totalling no more than four minutes total. As well, if you have a special skill, we’d love to hear about it / see it! (*these will not be musical auditions)
  • For the General Auditions, we please ask that no agent packages be sent, as we value the artist’s individual voice in a letter. However, agents are welcome to submit clients for specific shows at any time. (formal breakdowns may or may not be sent out)

Please include a resume, headshot, and a letter stating your interest and submit by email for consideration to:

Cindi Ryde, Artistic Administrator

The deadline for submissions to be received is 5pm on Monday April 30, 2018.

Priority will be given to Equity artists, and they will be seen first at all auditions.

In our desire to reflect the world and our community on our stage, the Grand Theatre is committed to diverse, inclusive casting. We encourage submissions from all qualified performers, without regard to age, disability, ethnicity, race, or gender identity.
