​1 Day. 100 Volunteers. 4000 Poppies.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. To commemorate, the Grand Theatre is hosting a production of TIMOTHY FINDLEY’S THE WARS. The Grand has partnered with the Veterans Care Program at St. Joseph’s Health Care London’s Parkwood Institute to create 4000 handmade poppies as part of the set backdrop. Londoners are invited to joined Veterans and their families at this special event to create the poppies on:

Date:  Wednesday, September 19
Time:  9:30 AM – 3:30 PM (drop-in at any time)
2:30 PM – Official Greeting

This is an all ages event. Refreshments are available throughout the day.

REGISTRATION: Please email slanthier [at] grandtheatre [dot] com at the Grand Theatre or call 519-672-9030 x251 to register to attend.

LOCATION: Parkwood Institute, St. Joseph’s Health Care London, 550 Wellington Road, Western Counties Wing Auditorium, Zone E, Room E1-130. Arthur J. Hobbins Building entrance (D2). Enter through main door at Zone D, and follow signage to lower level by elevator or stairs.

GETTING THERE: The Richmond 6 London Transit bus route serves Parkwood Institute, and drops riders off at the entrance for the Main Building and the Mental Health Care Building.

PARKING: Parking is available in the staff parking garage/tower – if you park in this tower, you will be given a parking voucher to use on exit. Those needing closer access may park in Visitors Lot #1 or Lot #3 however you will need to pay $4.00 upon entry.
