Grow - Call for Submissions

The Grand Theatre

Call for Submissions

The Grand Theatre is seeking submissions for the cast of our production of Grow, directed by Artistic Director, Dennis Garnhum, with lead producer, Michael Rubinoff, in our 2019-2020 season.

Before they must commit to the Amish faith forever, nineteen-year-old twins Hannah and Ruth leave the comfort of their sheltered community to explore the outside world for the first time. After finding themselves stranded in one of Toronto’s roughest neighbourhoods, all their plans go up in smoke and they end up working at an illegal marijuana grow-op. Grow is an outrageously fun, big-hearted musical that explores sisterhood, community, and the legalization of a once-forbidden weed.

We will be holding auditions for the following roles on Tuesday, September 24.

Female, 40-60.

Regional manager for a major medicinal marijuana corporation, she's good at her job but you wouldn't know it to look at her. A tad on the bumbling side, she's desperate to hit a home run with her current career venture as it could lead to the promotion of her dreams. Having spent years climbing the male-dominated corporate ladder, she'll stop at nothing to get what she wants... even if it means some morally questionable behaviour.

Dynamic multi-talented actors needed for various roles in this diverse ensemble. Must be proficient singers with strong comedic skills
