Our Spaces

The Grand Theatre is pleased to provide the community with rental access to our spaces including the Spriet Stage, McManus Stage, Poster Lounge, McManus Lounge and lobbies. Our rental venues are the perfect backdrop for performances, special events, and corporate functions.

SPRIET STAGE

Rental rates – July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019

Capacity: 839 seats – Proscenium theatre

Commercial: $2200 per day plus 7.5% of sales net of HST (additional $500/show for multiple show days).
$2800 per day for non-ticketed events.

Non-Profit: $1200 per day plus 7.5% of sales net of HST (additional $250/show for multiple show days).
$1800 per day for non-ticketed events.

Labour Rates and Other Charges

  • IATSE Stage Crew Labour as per IATSE Collective Agreement. Stage Crew estimate is provided after receipt of event technical requirements and schedule.
  • Front of House Manager, Box Office Staff and Stage Door Security required and billed at prevailing hourly rates.
  • Housekeeping at 6 hours per event at prevailing hourly rate.
  • Credit card charges at approximately 2.5%.
  • Capital Improvement Fund at $3.00 per ticket charged to the ticket buyer.
  • Proof of liability insurance in an amount of 2 million per occurrence with no limit.
  • 20% of Merchandise Sales. One volunteer is provided to assist with selling.

Statutory Holidays

Included staffing is at regular hourly rates only. Any additional costs for hours worked on Statutory Holidays will be billed to rental client at prevailing rates.

Volunteer Front of House ushers provided at no cost.

McMANUS STAGE

Rental rates – Sept. 19, 2018 to May 27, 2019

Capacity: 144 seats – Tiered theatre-style seating

Commercial: $500.00 per day plus 7.5% of sales net of HST, or $2,000 per week plus 7.5% of sales net of HST – up to 7 consecutive days, Sunday to Saturday including dark days if applicable.
Additional $100 per show for multiple show days.
$500.00 per day for non-ticketed events for a maximum of 8 hours.

Non-Profit: $250.00 per day plus 7.5% of sales net of HST or $955 per week plus 7.5% of sales net of HST – up to 7 consecutive days, Sunday to Saturday including dark days if applicable.
Additional $75 per show for multiple show days.
$400.00 per day for non-ticketed events for a maximum of 8 hours.

Labour Rates and Other Charges

  • 1 show call for the Front of House Manager is included in rental. Any additional hours required billed at $32.24/hr.
  • Box Office will be open 2 hours prior to show time for ticket sales. Additional hours for double show days will be billed at $19.67/hr.
  • McManus House Technician billed at $23.90/hr. Minimum calls and overtime rates as applicable.
  • Additional technicians as required billed at $18.72/hr. Minimum calls and overtime rates as applicable.
  • 3rd Party Liability Insurance Premium of $25.00 per rental contract.
  • Credit/debit card charges estimated at 2.5%.
  • Stage Door Security from 8am to 6pm on Mondays, 8am to 11pm Tuesday to Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sunday is included. Additional hours billed at $18.75/hr.
  • $1.00 per ticket printed for off-site Lessee sales.

Volunteer Ushers

Up to 3 Grand Theatre volunteer ushers to assist with audience seating and emergency procedures.

Housekeeping

Standard cleaning of lobby, audience washrooms, and McManus dressing rooms. Any additional or heavy cleaning required will be billed at prevailing rates.

Licensed Bar Service

Beverage service will be available preshow and intermission. Which bar will open is at the discretion of the House Manager based on building and staff activity additional hours will be billed at prevailing hourly rate.

Statutory Holidays

Staffing is at regular hourly rates only. Any additional costs for hours worked on Statutory Holidays will be billed to rental client at prevailing rates.

NOTE: From May 20, 2019 to September 20, 2019 no labour for McManus Stage events is included in rental rates and will be billed at prevailing rates including but not limited to Front of House Manager, Box Office staffing, Housekeeping and Stage Door Security. Technical staff is not included in rental rates at any time and are billed at prevailing rates.

POSTER LOUNGE

A stunning space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Richmond Street.

Capacity: Up to 125 persons for a stand up reception, 80 for sit-down dinner.
Cost: $600 plus required staffing including but not limited to Front of House Manager, Security and any other staffing deemed necessary.

 
 
 

McMANUS LOUNGE

An intimate space perfect for private cocktail receptions.

Capacity: Up to 70 for a stand up reception
Cost: $300 plus required staffing included but not limited to Front of House Manager, Security and any other staffing deemed necessary.
