Rob Wellan Scholarship Fund
The Grand Theatre is now accepting applications for the Rob Wellan Scholarships. Rob Wellan was a theatre artist who throughout his life was a mentor and encouraged young talent. We continue to celebrate Rob and his contribution to The Grand Theatre and the broader theatre community. We will be awarding two scholarships of $500 each. With the awarding of these scholarships, we are encouraging young theatre artists and the future of professional theatre.
Scholarships will be awarded to students who have completed at least their first year of full-time post-secondary studies in theatre. Applicants must intend to make a career in professional theatre.
Applicants must have attended a London secondary school, either part of the Thames Valley District School Board or the London Catholic District School Board.
All applicants must submit the following:
1.a letter stating goals and objectives; please include SIN and permanent and present addresses
2.a transcript of grades from your previous school year
3.a letter assessing your work from a teacher or head of your drama department, sent directly to The Grand Theatre
Those applicants who meet the preliminary qualifications may be asked to come in for an interview.
Application packages must be submitted by October 2, 2009.
The theatre will notify scholarship recipients by October 30, 2009. Recipients will also be announced in a press release.
