The Grand Theatre is seeking applicants for the position of Housekeeping. This is a seasonal part-time position, and is paid on an hourly basis. This position reports to the Building Manager. Shifts available (Days and times are approximate and may change depending on performances)

  • Tuesdays 6:00pm – 10:00pm

  • Wednesdays 3:00pm – 10:00pm

  • Thursdays 7:00am - 3:00pm / 3:00pm - 10:00pm

  • Fridays 6:00pm – 10:00pm

  • Saturdays 7:00am -3:00pm / 3:00pm – 10:00pm

  • Sundays 7:00am – 3:00pm

Required Qualifications:

  • Friendly, personable, and inclusive

  • Trustworthy, dedicated, and high integrity

  • Willing to learn

  • Able to work up to 10 hour shifts

  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time

  • Able to lift heavy objects above head alone and in teams

  • Flexible to work afternoon/evening/weekend shifts as well as some Holidays

  • Must be able to read, speak, and understand spoken English fluently

  • Must be a Canadian resident and legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Anti-oppression training, or willingness to obtain

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Fast, efficient and methodical

  • Strong attention to detail

Assets, but not required:

  • Valid First Aid/CPR with AED
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Familiarity with performing arts industry
  • Experience as a housekeeper in a commercial or institutional setting
  • WHMIS training

Job Duties:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting public and back of house spaces
  • Garbage and recycling removal to onsite dumpsters
  • Vacuuming carpets
  • Cleaning washrooms
  • Dry and wet mopping floors
  • Dusting various surfaces
  • Cleaning glass and stainless steel surfaces
  • Basic repairs/troubleshooting of cleaning tools and minor building items
  • Occasional snow removal, de-icing exterior walkways and exits
  • Emergency repairs in absence of Building Manager
  • Other related duties as assigned


  • $16.55 per hour
