Our Spaces

The Grand Theatre - made up of the Spriet Stage, Auburn Stage, the Drewlo Lounge and the Auburn Lounge - is a perfect backdrop for performances, special events and corporate functions.

During our "dark" days - those times when the Spriet Stage and/or Auburn Stage are not being used for Grand Theatre programs - both venues are available for rental activities.

SPRIET STAGE

Rental rates – July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022

Rates do not include required staffing. Please refer to labour rates section.

Capacity: 839 seats – Proscenium theatre

Commercial: $2500 per day plus 9% of sales net of HST (additional $750/show for multiple show days).
$3000 per day for non-ticketed events.

Non-Profit: $1750 per day plus 7.5% of sales net of HST (additional $400/show for multiple show days).
$2200 per day for non-ticketed events.

Labour Rates and Other Charges

  • IATSE Stage Crew Labour as per IATSE Collective Agreement. Stage Crew estimate is provided after receipt of event technical requirements and schedule.
  • Front of House Manager, Box Office Staff and Stage Door Security required and billed at prevailing hourly rates.
  • Housekeeping at 6 hours per event at prevailing hourly rate.
  • Credit card charges at approximately 2.5%.
  • Capital Improvement Fund at $3.00 per ticket charged to the ticket buyer.
  • Proof of liability insurance in an amount of 2 million per occurrence with no limit.
  • 20% of Merchandise Sales. One volunteer is provided to assist with selling.

Statutory Holidays

Included staffing is at regular hourly rates only. Any additional costs for hours worked on Statutory Holidays will be billed to rental client at prevailing rates.

Volunteer Front of House ushers provided at no cost.

Auburn STAGE

Rental rates – July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022

Rates do not include required staffing. Please refer to labour rates section.

Capacity: 144 seats – Tiered theatre-style seating

Commercial: $650.00 per day plus 9% of sales net of HST, or $2,500 per week plus 9% of sales net of HST – up to 7 consecutive days, Sunday to Saturday including dark days if applicable.
Additional $200 per show for multiple show days.
$650.00 per day for non-ticketed events for a maximum of 8 hours.

Non-Profit: $350.00 per day plus 7.5% of sales net of HST or $1250.00 per week plus 7.5% of sales net of HST – up to 7 consecutive days, Sunday to Saturday including dark days if applicable.
Additional $200 per show for multiple show days.
$500.00 per day for non-ticketed events for a maximum of 8 hours.

NOTE: All Sunday load ins for the Auburn Stage will commence no earlier that noon. Access may be limited until 2:00pm pending main foyer public activity. Earlier start time requests will be considered pending crew schedule the previous night.

Labour Rates and Other Charges

  • 1 show call for the Front of House Manager is included in rental to a maximum of 4hrs.  Any additional hours required billed at $35.69/hr.
  • Box Office will be open 2 hours prior to show time for ticket sales. Additional hours for double show days will be billed at $20.58/hr.
  • Auburn House Technician billed at $27.35/hr. Minimum calls and overtime rates as applicable.
  • Additional technicians as required billed at $21.82/hr. Minimum calls and overtime rates as applicable.
  • 3rd Party Liability Insurance Premium of $50.00 per rental contract.
  • Credit/debit card charges estimated at 2.5%.
  • Stage Door Security from 8am to 6pm on Mondays, 8am to 11pm Tuesday to Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sunday is included.  Additional hours billed at $19.93/hr.
  • $1.00 per ticket printed for off-site Lessee sales.

Volunteer Ushers

Up to 3 Grand Theatre volunteer ushers to assist with audience seating and emergency procedures.

Housekeeping

Standard cleaning of lobby and audience washrooms, standard cleaning of Auburn dressing rooms. Any unusual or heavy duty cleaning required will be billed at prevailing rates.

Licensed Bar Service

Beverage service will be available preshow and intermission.  Which bar will open is at the discretion of the House Manager based on building and staff activity additional hours will be billed at prevailing hourly rate.

Statutory Holidays

Included staffing is at regular hourly rates only. Any additional costs for hours worked on Statutory Holidays will be billed to rental client at prevailing rates.

NOTE: From May 20, 2019 to September 20, 2019 no labour for Auburn Stage events is included in rental rates and will be billed at prevailing rates including but not limited to Front of House Manager, Box Office staffing, Housekeeping and Stage Door Security. Technical staff is not included in rental rates at any time and are billed at prevailing rates.

Drewlo LOUNGE

A stunning space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Richmond Street.

Capacity: Up to 125 persons for a stand up reception, 80 for sit-down dinner.
Cost: $500 for up to 4 hours of usage including set up and tear down time, plus required staffing including but not limited to Front of House Manager, Security and any other staffing deemed necessary.  Additional hours billed at $100 per hour plus required staffing

 

Auburn LOUNGE

An intimate space perfect for private cocktail receptions.

Capacity: Up to 70 for a stand up reception.
Cost: $300 for up to 4 hours of usage including set up and tear down time, plus required staffing including but not limited to Front of House Manager, Security and any other staffing deemed necessary.  Additional hours billed at $75 per hour plus required staffing.
